ROV Guardian 2.0 for the CNRS in Antarctic
08-07-2010

After the success of the mission in Martinique (laboratoire Ecosystèmes Aquatiques Tropicaux et Méditerranéens in Perpignan), the CNRS renews its confidence in Subsea Tech with the order of our ROV Guardian 2.0 in the scope of the 5 years duration ICEPROXY project in Antarctic (laboratoire d'Océanographie et du Climat : Expérimentation et Approches Numérique in Jussieu). With on site temperatures reaching -40°C, this unit has been especially adapted to resist on extreme conditions. In order to trace and track the ROV under the pack ice, a USBL positioning system including 2 pingers and connected on an external GPS will be deployed.
