PipeWatch: underwater autonomous module for the surveillance and measurement of pipelines lateral and longitudinal movements, using a profiling sonar, coupled to a recording and acoustic transmission system.
The project, coordinated by Subsea Tech with Ifremer, Comex and Chrisar Software Technologies as partners, is presently in its detailed design phase.

SMARIS: Subsea Tech presently develops an underwater data module "lift to surface" system, essentially based on a mechanical energy storage system, and requiring therefore no external energy for its ascent or descent. Once on surface, the data can be downloaded and the batteries recharged or changed out. This provides a very robust and cost effective solution for maintaining scientific underwater sensors networks, as an alternative to cabled observatories. |
