HEADLINE
Mini TORTUGA XP4 Adopted by the Albanian Navy
Subsea Tech continues its international expansion with a new milestone in the defense sector. The Albanian Navy has recently acquired a Mini TORTUGA XP4 to strengthen its underwater intervention capabilities.
This system was selected to meet the specific requirements of EOD and MCM missions, particularly in confined environments and shallow waters.
The Mini TORTUGA XP4 stands out for its compactness, robustness, and versatility. It enables:
- Inspection and mapping of the seabed using advanced acoustic imaging capabilities
- Automatic detection, localization, classification, and identification of submerged objects
- Intervention operations via a teleoperated manipulator arm
- Real-time video feed and data recording
- Rapid deployment by a small team, even in hard-to-reach areas and from small vessels
These features make it a particularly well-suited solution for operations requiring responsiveness, precision, and reliability.
New Service
Subsea Tech Takes to the Skies with Aerial Drones
Subsea Tech is expanding its expertise by now offering topography and photogrammetry services using aerial drones.
This new activity naturally complements our existing offering of underwater inspections and surveys, enabling a comprehensive study of structures from above the waterline down to submerged sections.
Whether for infrastructure inspections, topographic surveys, or construction site monitoring, aerial drones help optimize intervention time while improving the quality and accuracy of collected data.
Services cover:
- LiDAR topography
- Aerial photogrammetry
- Orthophoto production
- Environmental mapping
Development
Cavitation Cleaning Tool for Wind Farm Cables
As part of offshore renewable energy development, Subsea Tech is currently working on a cavitation cleaning tool, deployed by ROV and dedicated to dynamic submarine wind farm cables.
This solution aims to effectively remove biological deposits — particularly mussels — while preserving cable coatings. The goal: maintain the integrity of installations while reducing maintenance costs.
This development reflects our commitment to supporting the long-term growth of the offshore wind sector.
Product Spotlight
AirCAT BathyPack
Subsea Tech is launching the AirCAT BathyPack, a compact, all-in-one multibeam bathymetric solution designed to simplify survey operations in shallow-water environments. By combining an ultra-compact, inflatable surface drone with a multibeam echosounder, the system enables rapid surveys with minimal logistics and an exceptionally straightforward setup.
Built for fieldwork, the BathyPack can be deployed quickly, operated by a single operator, and launched directly from the shore — even in hard-to-access areas. It is an effective answer to the growing demand for flexibility and speed in bathymetric missions.
The system is designed to travel by air as checked luggage, yet once deployed, its 2.7 m length allows it to navigate up to Sea State 3.
Another key advantage is its price: a complete solution for under €100,000, delivering professional-grade bathymetric surveys while keeping equipment and operational costs under control.
